Today, two people have been arrested in a joint operation by EULEX Police and Kosovo Police in a war crimes related case. The two suspects are being investigated for allegedly committing the war crime of rape in April 1999 in Kosovo.

The joint operation, carried out by the EULEX Police War Crimes Investigation Unit (WCIU) and the Kosovo Police War Crimes Investigation Unit (KPWCIU), took place in Babin Most and Vushtrri/Vučitrn. Operational support was provided by the Kosovo Police Special Unit and the Kosovo Police Forensic Unit.

The suspects were arrested upon a court order and house searches were carried out.

The case is being investigated by the Special Prosecution Office of Kosovo (SPRK).
