On the 26th and 27th of July, EULEX has certified 94 copies of original Kosovo civil and religious registry books for birth, death, and marriage covering the matriculation territories of Janjevë/Janjevo and Babushi Muhaxherëve/Muhadžer Babuš in Lipjan/Lipljan municipality.

With a total of 218 copies certified by EULEX of the original Kosovo civil and religious registry books/records of birth, marriage and death all books/records for the matriculation territories of Janjevë/Janjevo and Babushi Muhaxherëve/Muhadžer Babuš , Lipjan/Lipljan municipality have been completed through EULEX small scale project. From the above 218 copies 124 are for Janjevë/Janjevo matriculation territory in Lipjan /Lipljan municipality. The small scale project was composed of nine persons among whom 6 are Serbian students.

Soon, a large scale project involving EULEX, EUSR and Danish Refugee Council will take place for creating copies of all Kosovo original civil and registry books/records that are currently in Serbia. It is estimated that these books are approximately 12,036. The certified copies of the original registry books are part of the EU facilitated dialogue agreement reached on the 2nd of July 2011 between Pristina and Belgrade.

Having certified copies of all existing original registry books that are in Serbia will provide Kosovo with proper and quality civil registry data which is needed for establishing reliable population/civil registry data.
