The panel of judges in the ‘Klecka’ case has ruled that the statements and diaries of A.Z., known as Witness X are inadmissible.
This is a decision made by a panel of judges, including two EULEX judges and one local judge. The judges determined that the prosecution failed to meet certain procedural standards, and therefore the evidence of A.Z. was not admissible. The prosecution and defence teams have now been asked to submit final statements before the verdict in the case is issued. In the meantime, the presiding judge has ordered the release of the defendants from detention. Both defence and prosecution will have the right to appeal once the verdict is passed.
