The security arrangements for the parliamentary elections in Kosovo scheduled on Sunday 8th June have been carefully planned, and coordinated between the Kosovo Police, EULEX, KFOR and OSCE to guarantee people's right to vote, and that the voting process takes place in a peaceful and orderly manner.
The Kosovo Police as first responder will be present outside the polling centres and other key areas, supported by EULEX in their provision of security as the second responder and KFOR as third responder. The OSCE is supporting the election process in the four northern Kosovo municipalities at the request of the Central Election Commission.
EULEX and KFOR stand ready to support KP and intervene immediately if the electoral process is in any way threatened or the safety of people at polling stations, polling committee members, the election facilitators or observers is endangered.
Cooperation and coordination between Kosovo Police, EULEX, KFOR and the OSCE continues to be excellent.
