A mixed panel of two EULEX judges and three local judges, presided over by a EULEX judge at the Supreme Court, upheld the judgment of the District Court of Pristina pronounced against A.S. charged with terrorism related offences.
The Supreme Court panel rejected the appeal filed by the defence counsel for the defendant and affirmed the first instance verdict. The panel provided a modification of the legal designation in the verdict to include the count of unlawful possession of weapons under the count of terrorism.
A.S. was found guilty by the District Court of Pristina and sentenced to an aggravated punishment of ten years and one month of imprisonment for two counts of terrorism and unlawful possession of weapons. A.S. was accused of writing a threatening letter to the former Major of Pristina in the name of the commander of the Albanian National Army, a terrorist organization, and for firing a projectile from a launcher damaging the building of the District Court Pristina.
The case was prosecuted by a public prosecutor of the Office of the State Prosecutor of Kosovo (OSPK).
