A mixed panel of two EULEX judges and one local judge, presided over by a EULEX judge at the District Court of Prizren sentenced E.K. to 23 years of imprisonment for the criminal offences of aggravated murder and grievous bodily harm.
D.K. was acquitted for aggravated murder but was sentenced to one year of imprisonment for the criminal offence of unauthorized ownership, control, possession or use of weapons.
B.K. was sentenced to an aggregate punishment of seven years and five months of imprisonment for two counts of grievous bodily harm and one count of unauthorized ownership, control, possession or use of weapons.
A.K. and H.K. were sentenced to two years of imprisonment each for the criminal offence of assisting in the aggravated murder.
The defendants were accused in relation to the killing of S.L. in the village of Banja, in Malisheva in January 2011. Other members of the Limaj family were also injured during the incident.
The case was prosecuted by a local prosecutor from Kosovo’s Special Prosecution Office.
