Policy Advisor to EULEX Head of Mission, Daniele Pancheri, delivered on 14 November the lecture “From Theory to Reality: A Case Study” during a four-day course on “Civilian Aspects of EU Crisis Management” hosted by the Rome-based Centre for Defence Higher Studies in cooperation with the European Security and Defence College.
As in past iterations of this course, his presentation focused on policy and operational aspects and practice of a CSDP civilian field mission, using Kosovo as a reference operating context and EULEX as the CSDP element on the ground. It was a great opportunity to showcase to a diverse and interested audience the work and challenges of EULEX Kosovo, as seen first-hand from a CSDP field practitioner.
The Civilian Aspects of EU Crisis Management course aims to develop and promote a better understanding of the Common Security and Defence Policy as an integral part of the Common Foreign and Security Policy of the European Union as well as a common understanding of civilian aspects of EU crisis management under the CSDP umbrella. The course targets personnel of EU Member States’ seconding Authorities, as well as staff of EU Institutions and relevant EU Agencies involved in EU crisis management.
