The Head of EULEX, Xavier de Marnhac, and the Deputy Prime Minster and Minister of Justice, Hajradin Kuci, have made a joint visit to the Supreme Court.

They were received by the President of the Court Fejzullah Hasani and they met Kosovo and EULEX judges working at the court.

After the visit, de Marnhac said:

“I would like to thank the President of the Court Mr Hasani for welcoming us, together with Minister Kuci, here at the pinnacle of the judiciary in Kosovo. It was good to see and hear how much Kosovo and EULEX judges work together side by side here to support the judicial institutions of Kosovo.

“We discussed the challenges, starting with the backlog of cases. Significant steps have been taken in this regard but a lot of work still needs to be done. This is very important for the people.

“I am very confident in the abilities of the Kosovo judges. Our EULEX judges support to strengthen the judiciary through our monitoring, mentoring and advising (MMA) but also through joint panels that issue verdicts.”
