In 2022, EULEX transferred the task of providing operational support to the EU-facilitated Dialogue to the EU Special Representative (EUSR) for the Belgrade-Pristina Dialogue and other Western Balkan regional issues. This is in line with Council Decision (CFSP) 2022/1969 and Council Decision (CFSP) 2023/122.

Prior to the transfer, EULEX was responsible for monitoring, mentoring, and advising on the technical implementation of aspects of the EU-facilitated Dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina. This included the implementation of all relevant agreements and technical protocols related to Integrated Border Management, the Freedom of Movement agreements, and the Justice Agreement and its Agreed Conclusions.
