18 June
On 18 June 2024, EULEX forensic experts joined representatives from the Institute of Forensic Medicine (IFM) at the Merdare Common Crossing Point in handing over the remains of three persons, recently identified, after positive DNA matching was obtained.
The remains of one of them, a missing person, were handed over to the family, and the remains of the other two were handed over to the Serbian authorities, who received them on behalf of the families.
We remain committed to supporting our local counterparts at IFM and other relevant Kosovo institutions by providing forensic expertise and advice in conducting the complex work of identification of all human remains at the IFM’s morgue, for family members to realize their right to know the truth.
