EULEX, KFOR and Kosovo Police Conduct Joint “Golden Sabre 2024” Exercise

On the 25 th of November 2024, the European Union Rule of Law Mission in Kosovo (EULEX), the NATO-led KFOR mission (KFOR), and the Kosovo Police conducted the crowd control and crisis management joint exercise “Golden Sabre 2024”.

The exercise took place at Camp Vrelo in the presence of the Head of Mission of EULEX, Giovanni Pietro Barbano, of the Commander of KFOR, Major General Enrico Barduani, and of the General Director of the Kosovo Police, Gazmend Hoxha, and it aimed at advancing the level of readiness and coordination among the three Kosovo’s security responders.

In line with the three-tiered Kosovo security responder mechanism, where the Kosovo Police is the first security responder, EULEX is the second, and KFOR is the third security responder, the joint training exercise was organized to strengthen their capacity to implement joint crowd and riot control procedures, in order to better support the stability of Kosovo and contribute to the security of all communities.
