Following the result of the investigation into the suicide of an inmate in Prizren Detention Centre, Kosovo Correction Services, (KCS) in cooperation with EULEX, initiated training for its staff members on incident management. A first group of staff members have started the course which is envisaged for all KCS.
 
The Acting Director of Prizren DC, Ilir Kelmendi said “It is vital that all staff is fully aware of how to act in case of an incident. We wish to make this training compulsory for all staff members in the future”.
 
EULEX has been present during the training to support  the KCS. The Mission has offered support and assistance to the KCS in reviewing, updating and drafting contingency plans to make the KCS more efficient, especially in the area of serious incidents.
