Yesterday, a group of fifteen MA students from the Student Association for Foreign Affairs of Linköping University visited EULEX. Dragana Nikolic-Solomon, Head of PPIO, Liudas Kolesinskas, Political Advisor, and Lina Andeer, International Gender Advisor, spoke with the students about the Strengthening and Executive functions within the Mission.
Speaking on the Mission’s current mandate, Ms. Nikolic-Solomon said that while retaining both strengthening and executive functions the mandate reflects increased responsibility of local institutions for the rule of law in Kosovo. Lina Andeer stressed the challenges and importance of applying the gender perspective for the Mission emphasizing that gender is increasingly being taken into consideration by local institutions and society. Liudas Kolesinskas provided a short overview of the current political situation in Kosovo.
A lively and dynamic discussion followed, triggering numerous questions from the students for the panel speakers. This marks the eighth lecture that EULEX has conducted this year for international students visiting the Mission.
