On 22 January, EULEX Head of Mission, Alexandra Papadopoulou, took part in a meeting of the High-level Rule of Law Forum convened by the Prime Minister, which brought together all heads of key rule of law institutions in Kosovo, as well as relevant international partners.

The meeting was part of a series of regular strategic-level discussions to take stock of progress and assess how to best support reform and implementation efforts in the rule of law system in Kosovo.

The focus was on the anti-corruption package of laws, recently adopted by the Kosovo Assembly, in view of Justice 2020, a mechanism designed to facilitate the implementation of a number of previously identified practical measures across the rule of law spectrum, as well as on high-profile cases targeted by the Kosovo authorities in the context of visa liberalization efforts.

EULEX will remain engaged in helping its Kosovo partners both as a member of the Justice 2020 initiative and under its new “robust monitoring” mandate focusing on sensitive prosecutorial and judicial cases, mostly cases previously handed over by EULEX.
