Today's judicial announcement at the Mitrovica Basic Court marks the end of the trial against 4 defendants who allegedly committed war crimes.

It has been a difficult, sensitive case.

The Prosecutor will carefully review the court's judgment and consider its right to appeal. We recognize the importance this case has for the people in Kosovo and the victims in this case.

It must be clear that the KLA was not on trial here, the defendants were. It is paramount to understand that guilt is individual, not collective.

The verdict in this case will in no way weaken the resolve of the SPRK to pursue all well founded war crimes cases including those involving sexual violence.
