The EULEX police conducted an operation today during which three persons were arrested, among them a high Prishtinë/Priština municipality official. The suspects are being investigated for extortion and other corruption related offences.

During the operation, the EULEX police searched several homes, business premises and municipality offices. The arrests were carried out upon order of the EULEX prosecutor and the searches were authorized by the pre-trial judge.

The case is being investigated in a mixed team by a EULEX and a local district prosecutor in Prishtinë/Priština.
