On 24 May in the Peje/Pec region, under the supervision of a EULEX Prosecutor, Kosovo Police carried out ten house searches in the residences of nine people allegedly involved in a serious crime. Police seized 4kg of a suspicious white powder, 50 mobile phones, a number of firearms including four Kalashnikovs, ammunition and several hand grenades.

The operation was carried out as part of a long term investigation by a EULEX prosecutor. A local pre-trial judge issued the search warrants yesterday.
