Three people have been arrested in connection with the so-called ‘Tisza human trafficking case’ on an arrest warrant issued by a EULEX pre-trial judge.

Four other individuals have been put under provisional arrest, authorised by a EULEX Special Prosecutor, also in connection with the Tisza case.

The arrests were all carried out by the Kosovo Police.

The individuals were taken into custody following a series of police operations on Wednesday morning (16th December, 2009). The operations took place in the municipalities of Viti/Vitina, Gjakovë/Đakovica, Podujevë/Podujevo, Gjilan/Gnjilane and Prishtinë/Priština.

At this moment, the four suspects put under provisional arrests, authorised by a EULEX Special Prosecutor, are interrogated in view of their possible detention on remand to be ordered by the EULEX pre-trial judge.
